Jesus, during the Last Supper and just before being arrested and crucified, was worried about leaving His disciples. He spoke words of wisdom, reassurance, and comfort, recorded in John chapters 14-17. Be sure to read these beautiful words, which finish with Jesus’ wonderful prayer for his disciples and “also for all who will ever believe in me”. (John 17:20) We thank you for Your prayer, Lord Jesus.
As comfort, Jesus promises three times to send the Holy Spirit to us on Earth after He is gone:
John 14:16 And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Advocate, who will never leave you. He is the Holy Spirit, who leads into all truth.
John 14:26 But when the Father sends the Advocate as my representative—that is, the Holy Spirit—he will teach you everything and will remind you of everything I have told you.
John 16:7 But in fact, it is best for you that I go away, because if I don’t, the Advocate won’t come. If I do go away, then I will send him to you.
Rest assured, we all can ask for the Holy Spirit, right now:
“But your heavenly Father is even more ready to give the Holy Spirit to anyone who asks.” (Luke 11:13)

He gives someone else the ability to discern whether a message is from the Spirit of God or from another spirit. Still another person is given the ability to speak in unknown languages, while another is given the ability to interpret what is being said.
