A Lord’s Prayer, Summer 2021

Our Father, who art in Heaven,
Our loving Father,
Our gentle Father,
Our caring Father,
Our merciful Father,
Our healing Father,
Our giving Father,
Our forgiving Father,
Our saving Father,
Our sacrificing Father,
Our delivering Father,
Our wonderful Father,

Hallowed be Thy Name.
Worshipped be Thy Name.
Praised be Thy Name.
Magnified be Thy Name.
Blessed by Thy Name.
Exalted be Thy Name.
Loved be Thy Name.
Glorified be Thy Name.

Thy Kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in Heaven.
O Father, we long for your Kingdom here on earth,
In the fullness of time, in your eternal wisdom,
bring your Kingdom to us.
We long for Your Son and our King, Jesus, here on earth
All power has been given to our King Jesus,
And all knees will bow before Him.
Our knees bow before Him now.
Thank you for your patience, longsuffering and mercy,
for you are not willing that any should perish.
Bring your will down to Earth from Heaven,
Not our will, but Your perfect Will be done.
Your loving and perfect Will for us,
better than we can imagine.

Give us this day our daily bread.
O Lord, thank you so much for our daily bread,
Which we ask for every day, and receive from Your faithfulness.
By You all things were created,
and by Your Son’s mighty word all things are sustained.
Thank you for our food and material wealth,
All we have comes from Your goodness.
Thank you, Jesus, for your living bread, sacrificed for us,
Your body, given for our bodies.
By Your stripes we are healed.
Your precious blood, given for the remission of our sins.
Your living water, after which we will never thirst again,
Your Holy Spirit, which gives life to our mortal bodies.
Thank you for healing us.
Thank you for our strong heart, our strong lungs,
Our strong immune systems, our strong muscles and bones.
Thank you for our strong feet, knees, hips, backs, elbows, and hands.
Thank you for all you give to us – for all good things come from You.

And forgive us our sins as we forgive those who sin against us.
Father, in the name of Your dear Son Jesus, forgive our sins.
We confess we have sinned against you in thought, word, and deed,
By what we have done and by what we have left undone.
We have not loved You with our whole hearts,
We have not loved our neighbors as ourselves.
We are truly sorry and humbly repent.
For the sake of Your Son Jesus, have mercy on us, and forgive us.
So that we may walk in Your will and delight in Your way,
To the Glory of Your Holy Name.
Amen.
Thank you for forgiving us.
And, Jesus, send the Holy Spirit to teach us and help us.
To forgive others who sin against us.
Give us your mind, Lord Jesus, and let us love our neighbors.
Create in us new hearts, Holy Spirit, to help us to eliminate our pride.
Help us to overcome our anger, revenge, our meanness,
Help us overcome our envy, jealousy, and malice.
Instead, let us follow Your faithfulness, love, and peace.
Let us be kind to each other, tenderhearted.
Let is forgive one another, as we are forgiven.

And lead us not into trial,
Holy Spirit, whisper to us and lead us away from trial,
and give us ears to hear you, and the strength to follow.
You give us everything, Father.
Thank you for being with us in our trials,
for comforting us, for helping our unbelief.
Thank you for sending your workers to care for us.
We pray for Your blessings on them now…
Thank you for healing us, and strengthening us.
For teaching us, for leading us to Your Truth, which is Your Word.

But deliver us from evil.
Lord Jesus, you are seated at the right hand of God the Father,
All power has been given into your hands.
Now you are far above any ruler or authority or power or leader or anything else—not only in this world but also in the world to come.
God has put all things under Your authority, Jesus,
and has made You head over all things for the benefit of the church.
In You lie hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.
Jesus, we are powerless against evil; it is invisible to us.
Apart from You, we can do nothing.
We plead for You to protect us and keep us, and deliver us from evil.
Please protect and deliver our entire family.
Thank you, Jesus.
For thine is the Kingdom, and the power, and the glory, now and forever.
Amen.
